The EIPA Performance Test evaluates the ability to expressively interpret classroom content and discourse and the ability to receptively interpret student sign language.
Ages 5-19
Boys Town’s EIPA Center is creating new training and testing materials to support the skill development of educational interpreters. EIPA is searching for students to record while using sign language.
PARTICIPANT SEARCH
EIPA is looking for Deaf and/or hard of hearing students ages 5 – 19 who uses ASL (American Sign Language) or PSE (Pidgin Signed English) as their primary language to communicate. The recorded video will be posted as receptive practice material for educational interpreters or as test stimulus for the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment.
TIME COMMITTMENT
EIPA will arrange times that are convenient for your family. The filming sessions will take approximately 1 – 2 hours.
LOCATION
Depending on your location, filming can occur on the Boys Town campus in Omaha, Nebraska or from your home using Zoom video conferencing software.
ACTIVITY
Students will view 2-3 short videos and then be recorded as they retell the stories. A Deaf communication facilitator will guide the student through the process.
COMPENSATION
Each student participant will receive a $25.00 Amazon gift card.
